Our local community hospice has a calendar full of enjoyable events to raise the necessary funds to maintain operations. Below is a description of the most popular events that are offered during the year.

Redwood Feed & Garden Supply in Redway donates their facilities and a beautiful selection of small plants to hospice for a benefit sale. This is a good way to do your garden shopping and mix with great people. Come on by and enjoy refreshments and entertainment too.

A fun filled afternoon of micro-brew tasting, a delicious barbecue dinner grilled by our own Flaming Chefs, and live music at the Garberville Rodeo Grounds. Also a children's activity area with jumping castle, crafts and face painting.

Consistently a very popular gathering. Spend a nice day in Shelter Cove, enjoy fresh food and a variety of grilled items including local seafood. Always great entertainment. And a lot of fun stuff for the kids, inclucing their own menu.

Sharon has donated a collection of exquisite quilts to hospice for a very exciting raffle. Sharon has been creating quilts for Hospice for 6 years. She works from her quilt studio in Elk Grove, Ca. Sharon's focus for the Hospice quilts has been on Asian fabrics and themes.

During the holiday season we reflect on the importance of sharing the love that we feel for others. Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice invites you to honor the living or remember the special people in your life who have died. The honored person will be commemorated on a hand folded origami crane that will be displayed in the windows of Karen Miclette Insurance, Humboldt Hunnies Day Spa, and North Valley Bank from December 1st until December 31st. Hospice hosts a gathering of community members to celebrate the season and honor loved ones. Good food and music.
